- On Section 4.2 no. 12, some students forgot to verify the function satisfies the hypotheses of the mean value theorem. To illustrate that, you can just mention that the function is actually a rational function, so whenever the function is defined, it is continuous and differentiable. Also some students didn’t rule out c=-\sqrt{3} which is not within the interval [1,3].
